Lebanon Accuses Israel of Ceasefire Violations, Escalating Tensions

The Lebanese army has launched a direct verbal offensive against Israel, citing what it describes as "non-stop violations of the ceasefire agreement." This comes amid ongoing direct talks between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the United States, though significant progress on the ground has yet to materialize.

Lebanese military sources have characterized recent days as a "dangerous escalation, even by existing norms," claiming that Israeli airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of 12 people in Lebanon recently. These sources further alleged that Israel has violated the ceasefire at least 7,700 times since the agreement began.

Lebanese officials argue that Israeli military activity hinders the disarmament of Hezbollah and prevents the full deployment of the Lebanese army across all regions as long as the strikes continue. They view the recent Israeli actions as a significant step up in hostilities.
