Hadassah Hospital Simulates Biological Terror Attack Response

Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus conducted a large-scale drill on Tuesday simulating a deliberate biological unconventional terrorist attack. The exercise, led by the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Israeli emergency services, tested the hospital's response from the moment of identification through diagnosis, treatment, and patient release.

Medical teams from all departments participated, practicing the specific life-saving care required for victims of such an attack. The drill's controllers noted that Hadassah teams demonstrated significant knowledge and control throughout the exercise.

According to the hospital, the procedures developed during this drill for handling such an unusual event will be adopted as standard operating procedures for all hospitals across Israel. Professor Yoram Weiss, Director-General of Hadassah Medical Center, stated that the hospital's teams are well-prepared for emergencies, citing their experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, terror victims, and war casualties.

Weiss added that the focused preparations and professional execution of the drill by the Mount Scopus team were exemplary and will be integrated into national protocols. He expressed hope that such drills remain simulations but affirmed the hospital's readiness to save lives in any scenario.
