Israel Land Authority Chief Tours Bar Tuvia for Development Projects

The head of the Israel Land Authority (ILA), Yehuda Eliyahu, visited the Bar Tuvia Regional Council last week to advance construction, employment, and infrastructure initiatives. Eliyahu and his professional team met with Council head Ben Cohen and council management for a comprehensive discussion on the council's rural development vision, including housing, community, and employment solutions.

The delegation then toured expansion projects in Moshav Avigdor, highlighting the council's building momentum. Currently, two settlement expansions are in advanced stages of execution, three more have been approved, alongside the expansion of the "Ra'am" industrial park. Four additional expansion plans are in various planning stages.

Discussions also covered the strategic project to develop and open Bar Tuvia Beach to the public. The council management raised a fundamental issue concerning the entire rural sector in Israel: the "betterment levy" transferred from the ILA to local authorities. The council called for increased transparency to ensure authorities receive adequate resources for reinvestment in residents and infrastructure development.

The Bar Tuvia Regional Council management thanked the ILA director and his team for the visit and professional partnership, stating the council will continue to lead extensive planning efforts to support the region's growth and future.
