Singer Odia Releases New Song to Aid Women Facing Abuse

Israeli singer Odia has released a new song, "Dylan *3898," dedicated to women experiencing domestic violence. The song's title incorporates the helpline number for the Michal Sela Forum, an organization established six years ago to prevent violence against women, particularly femicide, following the murder of Michal Sela.

The Michal Sela Forum, which uses innovation and technology to save lives and prevent violence, will hold a fundraising concert on October 19th at the Tel Aviv Opera House. The event will feature performances by prominent Israeli artists including Efrat Gosh, Nurit Galron, Arkadi Duchin, Yuval Dayan, and Yoni Rechter.

Odia's initiative follows a similar effort by singer Marina Maximilian, who released "Magi'a Li Tov" in collaboration with the Michal Sela Forum to raise awareness about women dealing with violence. Four years prior, Anna Zak dedicated the phone number from her hit song "Mi Zot" to the "Otot" organization, which supports at-risk youth.

"Dylan *3898" was written by Odia Azulai, Avi Ohayon, and Matan Dror, with musical arrangement and production by Matan Dror. The lyrics depict a woman named Dylan who is suffering abuse, showing signs of physical and emotional distress, and questioning why she returns to her abuser despite the violence she endures.
