Bereaved Father Offended by Gadi Eisenkot's Rejection
Eyal Eshel, the father of fallen lookout Roni, expressed his hurt and offense on Wednesday during an interview with Galai Tzahal (Army Radio). Eshel revealed that he discovered he would not be included on Gadi Eisenkot's political list via a WhatsApp message.
"I offered myself, but he made his choices. I received the news via a WhatsApp message from him. I was offended; he could have done it in a more polite way," Eshel stated.
This comes as Eisenkot's party, Yashar!, submitted its list for the 26th Knesset to the Central Elections Committee. The list was presented by candidates including former "Acharei!" CEO Inbar Harush Giti and former Ministry of Finance Budget Director Shaul Meridor. The party requested the election letters "Derech" (Way), symbolizing their platform of state leadership, responsibility, service, Zionism, and unity, contrasting it with perceived polarization and irresponsibility.
Yashar! aims to offer Israelis a "straight path" and presents itself as an alternative for replacing the current government, uniting the nation, and leading Israel to security, growth, and prosperity.
