Rabin Center Cancels Ministry Event Over Minister Ben-Gvir's Planned Speech

The Yitzhak Rabin Center in Tel Aviv has canceled a planned conference hosted by Israel's Ministry of National Security. The decision was reportedly due to the scheduled appearance of Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, according to sources cited by Haaretz. Center administration informed the ministry of the cancellation, stating the desire to avoid a current politician speaking shortly before the October 27th elections. However, sources suggest the primary reason was to prevent Ben-Gvir from speaking at the event.

Ben-Gvir gained notoriety as a teenager. Shortly before Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination by a Jewish extremist, Ben-Gvir was filmed with a symbol he claimed to have taken from the Prime Minister's car. At the time, Ben-Gvir stated, "Just as we came to this symbol, we can come to Rabin." This incident has since become a significant part of the minister's political history.
