Opposition Lawmaker Slams Benny Gantz Over Election Spending

MK Yulia Malinovsky of Yisrael Beiteinu launched a sharp attack on Benny Gantz, leader of the National Unity party, on Wednesday, criticizing his decision to run in the upcoming elections.

Malinovsky called Gantz's candidacy "pathetic" and accused him of "wasting the money of Israeli citizens." She stated that Gantz and his party have no chance of passing the electoral threshold, citing poll data. Despite this, she alleged, Gantz plans to spend NIS 15 million in public party funding on advertising and public relations, driven by "personal whims and ego."

While not alleging criminal activity, Malinovsky suggested a "public laundering" of funds, implying that "many interested parties" would profit from the millions Gantz is spending from taxpayer money. She concluded that while not illegal, the situation "stinks badly."
