Hostage's Mother Sues Orthodox Commentator for Defamation

Iris Haim, the mother of Yotam Haim, an Israeli hostage mistakenly killed by IDF soldiers after escaping Hamas captivity in Gaza, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Orthodox commentator Dov Halbertal. Haim is seeking approximately 170,000 shekels (about $45,000 USD) in damages for remarks Halbertal posted on Facebook. They argue Halbertal's comments were not a fit of anger but a deliberate attempt to harm her and tarnish her reputation.
