TV Host Catches Panelist in 'Poker Face' During Live Broadcast

An unusual moment occurred during a live broadcast on i24news when host Sharon Gal and his panelists surprised regular panelist Eli Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt, who had unexpectedly been placed high on the Likud party's Knesset list, was contacted live on air.

Gal initially checked if Goldschmidt could hear him, asking, "Here is Eli Goldschmidt, good evening, we are on air, how are you? Eli?" After a delay, Goldschmidt responded, "Yes, I hear now." The studio crew informed him that the entire panel wanted to congratulate him on his unexpected political advancement.

"We see you there in the Bardugo area, we wanted to congratulate you here, the whole panel is now on a call and live broadcast, do you want to say something?" Gal asked. When Goldschmidt seemed unaware he was live, Gal reminded him, "We are on air, seven ten." Gal also asked Goldschmidt to turn towards the camera for a clearer view.

Later in the call, Gal directly asked Goldschmidt if he knew about the possibility of being placed on the Knesset list when he was previously in the studio. "Here you are... did you know yesterday? Tell me, when you sat here and gave me a poker face. Did you know?" Goldschmidt did not fully deny prior knowledge, stating, "I knew there was a chance, but I didn't know for sure."

The panel offered their congratulations, and Gal concluded the segment on a light note, saying, "Okay, let's go, congratulations from everyone."
