Ex-Shin Bet Official Accuses Security Forces of Hiding Palestinian Authority Role in Terror
Amit Asa, a former senior official in the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), has warned that a significant threat in the West Bank is already present and is accusing Israeli security forces of concealing the involvement of Palestinian Authority security personnel in terror attacks. In an interview with "Yoman Layla" on Radio Galey Israel, Asa stated that the scenario of Palestinian Authority security forces turning against Israel is unfolding before their eyes, with members of these forces joining terrorists in attacks.
Asa claimed that for a long time, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit and the Shin Bet deliberately withheld this information from the public. While terror attacks were reported, and perpetrators identified as Hamas or other militants, the explicit involvement of PA security personnel was never disclosed, according to Asa.
He explained that information about this involvement eventually reached the public through Arab media, such as reports of PA officials attending mourning tents for terrorists, which revealed the perpetrators' affiliation with the security apparatus. Asa emphasized that this situation poses a great danger.
