Adir Hbani Admits to Rape, Willing to Serve Prison Time

During a cross-examination, Adir Hbani acknowledged that he now understands a sexual encounter with Ola Krebchenko was rape and stated he is prepared to go to prison for it. The court heard details of the incident, where Krebchenko reportedly cried and asked Hbani to stop. Hbani admitted that while he did not deny the event, he now realizes it was rape, even stating this publicly. He affirmed his willingness to accept criminal responsibility and serve jail time if required.

Hbani explained his reclassification of the event as rape, noting Krebchenko's distress and her statement that she did not want it to happen. He recounted apologizing to her afterward and, when asked if he understood at the time that he had raped her, he responded affirmatively. Previously, Hbani had stated that while he didn't believe the act was legally defined as rape, he couldn't say he hadn't raped her. He admitted to not consulting a lawyer regarding the legal definition.

The proceedings also touched upon allegations of violence, including Hbani admitting to hitting Krebchenko's head against a wall, which he initially described as "something that happened" but later confirmed when directly questioned. Krebchenko's legal team suggested Hbani's accusations against her, particularly regarding the murder of Tair Rada, stemmed from anger and hurt following their difficult breakup and his inability to accept her departure from his life. Hbani acknowledged the breakup was painful and described his state as "madness."

Further details revealed Hbani had previously posted Krebchenko's messages on Telegram, some containing curses, though he claimed she also responded harshly. He denied fabricating accusations due to the breakup but confirmed it was a difficult period. Hbani also confirmed a past diagnosis of a behavioral disorder with narcissistic traits but rejected its relevance to his current testimony. He expressed a willingness to apologize to Krebchenko, initially focusing on not reporting his information to the police sooner.
