Hapoel Haifa announced on Wednesday that it has signed Tal Na'im to a one-year contract with an option for another season. The 22-year-old midfielder, represented by agent Idan Ben Abu, is the grandson of former Israel national team coach Shlomo Scharf.
Na'im was one of the standout players in the National League last season for Maccabi Herzliya. In 29 matches, he scored five goals and added two assists. He is a defensive midfielder who can also play in every central midfield role.
In its announcement, the club said the move fits its plan to build for the future by adding young, talented players to the squad. Hapoel Haifa said it is strengthening its roster from Mount Carmel.
After signing, Na'im said he was happy and excited to join a club with tradition and a loyal fan base. “Thank you for believing in me, and now it is my turn to give back on the pitch and make the fans happy,” he said.
