Akiva Novick Bids Emotional Farewell to "Teicher and Zarchinovich" Radio Show

Journalist Akiva Novick delivered an emotional farewell on his radio show "Kovnovich" on Kan Reshet Bet to the duo Sharon Teicher and Eran Zarchinovich, whose program "Teicher and Zarchinovich" concluded its run on Tuesday.

Novick described the show as a "real drama in Israeli culture," expressing doubt that anything similar would emerge, nor had anything comparable existed before. He credited Teicher and Zarchinovich with significantly influencing Israeli humor, radio, and language, and noted their role as a nurturing ground for many comedians.

Novick shared that his personal connection to the show deepened significantly after the October 7th attacks. "I was on the ropes," he stated. "Hearing them come on the radio, open the microphone, simply cry with the listeners and slowly recover with them, it gave me strength that nothing else did." He concluded his remarks with a deeply personal admission: "I truly, truly cannot imagine my life without Teicher and Zarchinovich. I don't know what we do tomorrow."

The final broadcast marked the end of an 11-year run for "Teicher and Zarchinovich," following over two decades of their joint work. The pair, who continue their work on the satirical TV show "Eretz Nehederet," announced last week their decision to end the radio program without immediate plans for a new radio station or podcast. Their radio journey began at Galei Tzahal, moved to Radio Tel Aviv, and for the last 11 years, they broadcast "Teicher and Zarchinovich with Sean and Ron." The program also achieved success as a podcast with hundreds of episodes available across various platforms.
