Orthodox Faction Splits from Gur Within United Torah Judaism Party

Meir Porush and Elikim Stark have surprised the Gur Hasidic dynasty by announcing they will run under a different faction within the United Torah Judaism (UTJ) party, rather than under Agudat Yisrael, the traditional Gur-affiliated list. The new faction will be named "Chomat Torat Yisrael." For Porush and Stark, the objective is to establish a more autonomous political entity while maintaining their participation under the unified UTJ umbrella for the upcoming elections.
