Bus Controller Sprays Tear Gas on Passengers in Jerusalem
Fifteen passengers were injured when a bus controller deployed tear gas inside a bus traveling to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo earlier this week. Several individuals, including a five-month-old infant, required hospitalization following the incident on route 531, according to the "Kikar HaShabat" publication, citing attorneys from the "Honenu" organization. The "Honenu" organization stated that the infant experienced breathing difficulties after the gas was sprayed, and other passengers, including children, also needed medical attention.
A video recorded by a passenger shows the controller striking one passenger multiple times before releasing the tear gas. Attorney Chaim Bleicher of "Honenu," representing several affected passengers, has formally requested the police to launch an investigation, arrest the controller, and hold him accountable. The police have not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
