New Political Initiative Withdraws From Knesset Election Race

A new political initiative, inspired by the "Fourth Quarter" movement and aiming to bridge political divides in Israel, announced on Tuesday that it will not participate in the upcoming Knesset elections. The group, which had been working for months to establish a cross-factional party, stated that while opportunities existed to enter the political arena, they chose not to do so at any cost.

In a statement, the organizers explained their goal extends beyond the immediate election cycle, focusing instead on long-term national change and building a stronger, more unified Israel by 2048. They emphasized that their objective was never solely about winning the upcoming elections but about fostering a "political home for new people, new ideas, and new connections" that could break traditional bloc divisions.

The initiative criticized the current state of Israeli politics, noting that despite the significant national upheaval since October 7th, the political system largely continues to operate with the same internal conflicts and factionalism as before. They expressed disappointment that the political system, in their view, is still functioning as it did on October 6th, prioritizing internal struggles over addressing Israel's major challenges.

Despite the decision to sit out the current election, the group affirmed its commitment to the project. They are preparing for future elections and continuing to build the foundation for their political force, aiming to contribute to a strong, prosperous, and united Israel by 2048.
