Israel Airport Authority Prepares for Record Travel Day Amid Holiday Rush
The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) is gearing up for a peak travel day on September 10th, anticipating over 100,000 passengers at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). This preparation comes after significant congestion and a sudden strike that disrupted operations in August.
The IAA stated that the airport is fully prepared for the holiday season's peak, with staffing levels increased to meet expected demand. They asserted that TLV is operating normally and vehemently denied claims of operational issues or staff shortages.
According to the IAA, the current period naturally experiences increased passenger traffic leading up to the holidays, and their preparations align with a pre-determined recruitment plan. Staffing has been continuously augmented throughout July, August, and the current holiday period to match operational needs and anticipated passenger volumes.
The authority criticized what it described as attempts to present an inaccurate picture of the airport's operations. The IAA issued a strong rejection of any effort to spread false information or cast aspersions on Ben Gurion Airport, its employees, and management, who they stated are working around the clock. The IAA expressed regret that some parties are choosing to misrepresent the reality and harm the dedicated airport staff and management.
