IDF Investigates Syrian Citizen's Unnoticed Approach to Golan Heights Base
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is investigating how a Syrian civilian managed to approach an IDF post in the southern Golan Heights, on the Syrian side of the border, without being detected. The civilian was discovered near the post on Monday and has since been transferred to security forces for questioning.
Military sources have indicated to N12 that initial findings suggest the incident was not a terrorist attack. The IDF is conducting a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding the breach of security.
In a separate incident overnight, the IDF apprehended two other Syrian nationals in the Mount Hermon sector. These individuals are suspected of involvement in smuggling attempts along the border and have also been handed over to security authorities for investigation.
