MK Matan Kahane Predicts Coalition Defectors Amid Election Uncertainty

Member of Knesset Matan Kahane of the 'Yisrael' party believes that following the final election results, individuals currently in the national camp within the existing coalition will opt to join an alternative government led by the center and right. Speaking on 103FM radio Tuesday, Kahane expressed certainty that once it becomes clear Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decisively lost and cannot form a government, those within his current coalition will join a new one to "rescue Israel from the terrible place we have reached."

Kahane outlined his vision for a potential alternative coalition, stating that the majority would consist of center and right-wing figures committed to right-wing values. He specifically addressed concerns about potential alliances with the left, noting that while Yair Golan represents the left and has the right to do so, a coalition cannot be built solely with like-minded individuals.

In a sharp critique of the ultra-Orthodox parties currently in Netanyahu's government, Kahane highlighted security issues and military service. He contrasted the proposed alternative coalition with the current one, which includes figures like Goldknopf and Deri, questioning whether their children and voters have fought on the battlefield alongside "your brothers and my children."
