Three Gush Etzion Residents Graduate Elite Naval Officers Course

Three young men from the Gush Etzion and Efrat areas have successfully completed the 153rd class of the Israeli Navy's elite officers' course, a rigorous training program lasting approximately two and a half years. The graduates were awarded the rank of lieutenant and the naval officer insignia, joining the ranks of the Navy's combat officers.

The naval officers' course is considered one of the most unique and prestigious in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), attracting hundreds of applicants annually. It is a voluntary, professional, and challenging course where officers are trained to command various naval vessels, integrating leadership skills with the operation of advanced and classified technological combat systems.

Among the graduates is Lieutenant T, from Efrat, who studied biology and computer science in high school and attended a hesder yeshiva before his military service. He has been assigned to the Sa'ar 4.5-class missile boat INS Soufa. Lieutenant A, from Gush Etzion, who focused on physics and theater in high school, has also been assigned to a Sa'ar 4.5-class missile boat, INS Herev.

The third graduate, Lieutenant M, also residing in Gush Etzion, studied history and Land of Israel studies in high school and volunteered with the fire department and the Bnei Akiva youth movement. He will serve on the missile boat INS Romach. Lieutenant M stated, "I always wanted to be a commander, I feel this is the place to have an impact, here you combine physicality with intellectual challenge."

During their training, these new naval officers participated in operational activities with the Navy's various vessels, contributing to attack and defense efforts in combat zones.
