Left back Max Grechin has agreed to a two-year contract with M.S. Ashdod, according to a first report. Ashdod were relegated to the National League a few weeks ago, and Grechin is set to follow them into the second tier after spending last season with Bnei Sakhnin.
Grechin is 30. He began in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s youth system and then went on multiple loans in the Premier League and National League. After four loan spells, he left Maccabi Tel Aviv for Beitar Jerusalem, where he made 63 appearances and was loaned twice, to Zorya Luhansk and Hapoel Hadera.
He later crossed the city and signed for Hapoel Jerusalem, where he stayed for two years before joining Bnei Sakhnin. Last season with Sakhnin, he appeared in 13 matches. He is now moving to the National League with Ashdod.
