Left back Max Grechkin has agreed to a two-year contract with M.S. Ashdod, according to a first report by Sport5. Ashdod was relegated to the Liga Leumit, Israel’s second tier, only a few weeks ago. Grechkin spent last season with Bnei Sakhnin before deciding on the move.
Grechkin, 30, began his career in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s youth academy and later went through several loan spells in the Israeli Premier League and Liga Leumit. After four loans, he left Maccabi and signed for Beitar Jerusalem.
At Beitar, Grechkin made 63 appearances and was loaned out twice, to Zorya Luhansk and Hapoel Hadera. He later moved across Jerusalem to Hapoel Jerusalem, where he stayed for two years before joining Sakhnin.
Last season, Grechkin made 13 appearances for Sakhnin. He is now set to continue his career in Liga Leumit with Ashdod.
