Maccabi Netanya announced on Thursday that it has signed 26-year-old right-back Alon Azougi, who spent last season at Bnei Sakhnin, to a two-year contract. Netanya activated Azougi’s release clause, paying Sakhnin NIS 200,000 for the transfer.
Azougi is the latest addition to the club’s squad, joining Grigori Morozov and Dor Hugi, who had already signed and taken part in their first training session with the team.
The defender began his youth career at Maccabi Haifa and later moved to the youth side of Ironi Kiryat Shmona. He then played for Hapoel Acre, M.S. Kafr Qasim, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Jerusalem, Maccabi Petah Tikva, and most recently Bnei Sakhnin, where he enjoyed a strong season.
