Yaakov Buzaglo Threatens to Leave Israel if Netanyahu Wins Election

Yaakov Buzaglo, who returned to Israel approximately two and a half months ago after nearly a year living in Georgia, stated that the possibility of him leaving the country again following the upcoming elections is not theoretical. Buzaglo, who identifies as left-wing, expressed his strong opposition to Benjamin Netanyahu continuing as Prime Minister. "Woe is me. I will be 99% not staying here, and not just me. I know many, many others like me," he declared during an interview on Guy Peleg's podcast.

Buzaglo explained that his previous decision to move abroad was linked to the government's conduct at the time. Since returning, he has publicly shared his political views, emphasizing the importance of expressing one's opinions without fear. He also touched upon his financial situation, describing "injustices" he believes the state has inflicted upon him, stating, "The state ruined my life financially. If this is revealed, it will be an earthquake." Despite these challenges, he asserted he has chosen to confront the situation rather than surrender and continues to travel in and out of Israel freely.

While expressing deep affection for Israel, Buzaglo voiced concerns about its decline, citing political conduct and discrepancies in official statements. He also addressed the political divide with his son, Maor, who supports Netanyahu. Buzaglo attributed his son's stance to his daughter-in-law, describing her as a "Bibi-ist" (a supporter of Netanyahu). However, he stressed he has no intention of trying to change his son's views, stating, "I don't want to influence anyone. I say what I think." He added that his son is aware of his opinions and is free to hold different ones.
