Singer Ahrele Samet Releases New Musical Project 'Heilege Minutin'

Singer Ahrele Samet has launched a new musical project titled 'Heilege Minutin - M'Dvrei Emunah,' featuring ancient melodies from the court of the Rebbe, the Dvrei Emunah. This project, released during the month of Elul leading up to the High Holidays, aims to bring these sacred tunes to a wider audience.

The lead single from the project is a rendition of 'B Rosh Hashanah Yiktavon,' a melody composed by the Dvrei Emunah and Samet's grandfather, Rabbi Mordechai Hersh Breuer. This tune is traditionally sung in the Tolded Abraham Yitzchak Hasidic dynasty during the High Holidays.

Samet's decision to continue the 'Heilege Minutin' tradition highlights his deep connection to Hasidic heritage and the Vizhnitz Hasidic musical tradition. The project breathes new life into melodies previously sung within Hasidic courts, presenting them with contemporary musical arrangements while preserving their spiritual essence and authenticity.

The musical arrangement and production for the single were handled by David Taub, with contributions from Pavel Levin on violin and viola, and a choir. The project is part of a recent surge of new musical releases intended for the High Holidays, including works by Kobi Brummer, Yaakov Abuchatzira, and a special 50th-anniversary performance by Yerushalayim Boys Choir.
