Ra'am Party Submits Knesset List, Eyes Role in Next Government

The Ra'am party, led by Mansour Abbas, submitted its list of candidates for the upcoming Knesset elections on Monday evening. Notably, Yoav Segalovitz, formerly a Member of Knesset with the Yesh Atid party, has been placed in the second position on Ra'am's slate. Following Segalovitz are veteran party members Walid Taha, Walid Al-Huashla, Iman Khatib-Yassin, and Yasser Hujirat.

Abbas and Segalovitz jointly submitted the party's list. At the event, Abbas stated, "Today, for the first time, we held a meeting in Hebrew. We see ourselves as partners in the next government." This statement signals Ra'am's ambition to be a significant player in the formation of the subsequent Israeli government.

The party selected its top candidates, excluding Segalovitz who was pre-arranged for the second spot, through primary elections. These primaries were conducted separately from the institutions of the Islamic Movement for the first time. After the selection of the top five candidates and the addition of Segalovitz, the remainder of the list was determined by the party's organizing committee to ensure representation for specific demographic groups.
