Jerusalem Police Arrest 7 Illegal Workers in Ultra-Orthodox Neighborhood

Jerusalem police, Border Police officers, and municipal patrol teams conducted a targeted enforcement operation in the Mea Shearim neighborhood and its surroundings on Tuesday. The operation aimed to increase governance and maintain public order.

During the operation, 15 fines were issued for various violations. Eight of these were traffic tickets for life-threatening offenses, and six were for placing merchandise and creating obstacles in public passageways.

Simultaneously, officers searched several work sites in the area, leading to the apprehension of seven residents from the territories who were in Israel without permits. The suspects were taken for questioning at the police station.

During the enforcement, a disturbance broke out as individuals attempted to disrupt the officers' work, including throwing objects at them. The police stated the operation was part of efforts to enhance governance and public order.
