Beer Sheva Deputy Mayor Seeks Yom Kippur City Entry Ban

Beer Sheva Deputy Mayor Shimon Tubul has requested that city authorities and the police block regular vehicle access into the city during Yom Kippur. The appeal was made in a letter addressed to Beer Sheva Mayor Rubik Danilovich and the head of the city's police station, Kfir Salomon.

Tubul proposed allowing only emergency and rescue services, security forces, and vehicles for other urgent matters to enter the city. He cited security concerns as the primary reason for his request.

According to Tubul, vehicles entering Beer Sheva from outside the city during Yom Kippur annually drive at high speeds, posing a danger to pedestrians, including children and the elderly. He also called for an increased police presence at city entrances and main streets, urging strict enforcement against dangerous driving.
