Police Allow Bnei Brak Municipality to Block Traffic on Saturdays

Police have permitted the municipality of Bnei Brak to block traffic in the new "Mitham HaSofrim" residential area on Saturdays, according to Channel 13 news on Friday, September 4. This decision is the latest development in an ongoing dispute over traffic on the Sabbath.

The "Mitham HaSofrim" area, located on the city's outskirts, includes secular residents. Last week, the municipality had attempted to block access by placing garbage bins at the entrance to the neighborhood, but police later removed the obstructions.

The new municipal order stipulates that the bridge leading to the area will be closed on Saturdays. However, an alternative entrance and exit will remain accessible for residents.
