Wolt and Latet Partner to Double Food Donations Amid Rising Need

Food delivery company Wolt and the Latet organization have relaunched their traditional holiday collaboration to provide food packages for needy families in Israel ahead of Rosh Hashanah and the High Holidays. This initiative comes in response to alarming data from Latet, which indicates an average increase of approximately 32% in the demand for food assistance over the past year. Eighty-four percent of partner aid organizations have reported a rise in the number of individuals seeking help.

Wolt customers can add holiday food packages to their orders, with options ranging from 30 to 220 shekels. Wolt has pledged to match every donation, effectively doubling the impact of each contribution. The packages contain essential holiday food items such as rice, oil, honey, grape juice, tahini, and canned goods.

These packages will be distributed to thousands of families facing food insecurity, including the elderly and Holocaust survivors. The partnership between Latet and Wolt has been ongoing since 2022, supporting tens of thousands of families during Passover and Rosh Hashanah.

Eran Weintraub, CEO of Latet, highlighted the stark reality of economic hardship in Israel, stating, "The reality on the ground is that Israelis are divided between waiting in line for a flight at Ben Gurion Airport and waiting in line to receive a food package." He added that the collaboration with Wolt offers a simple and accessible way to donate, providing hope to thousands of families.

Tomer Cohen, CEO of Wolt Israel, emphasized the ease with which customers can contribute, turning everyday orders into impactful actions. "This year, against the backdrop of increased demand for assistance, it was clear to us that we would continue the partnership and double every donation, so that as many families as possible can sit at a full table during the holidays," he said.
