IDF Eliminates Hamas Nukhba Company Commander in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Tuesday that it had eliminated Yusef Akila, a Hamas Nukhba company commander in the Gaza Strip, in an airstrike in Gaza City on Monday. The IDF stated that Akila posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces and civilians.
According to the IDF, Akila had recently been advancing terror plans against Israeli soldiers and citizens and was working to restore the organization's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. The strike was carried out to neutralize this threat.
Prior to the strike, the IDF reported that measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial observation.
IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
