Israel Airports Authority says Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport will reopen on June 28, 2026, after being closed, to handle the expected surge in passengers during the summer travel season. The move was reported first by N12 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 16:10, and is intended to ease congestion as demand for flights rises.
According to the authority, domestic flights will resume from Terminal 1 on June 28, and international flights will follow on July 1, 2026. The reopening comes as part of preparations for the busy summer months, when passenger numbers are expected to increase significantly.
The Airports Authority urged travelers to check in advance which terminal their flight departs from in order to arrive on time. It also advised passengers to follow updates directly with their airline and through the authority’s official information channels, since schedules and terminal assignments may change.
