Police Officer Charged with Assaulting Teen at Rehabilitation Center

The Police Investigation Department has filed an indictment against a police officer for assaulting a teenager at a rehabilitation facility in Herzliya. The officer was called to the youth center following a report from staff that a resident was acting out with a shovel in his hand. According to the indictment, the officer escorted the teen to his room. After the teen made a sarcastic remark, the officer turned off his body camera, pushed the teen onto the bed, choked him, slapped him, and pressed a Taser gun to his head, threatening to use it. The officer then reactivated his body camera.
