Israeli Counter-Terror Unit Practices Extreme Scenario in Eilat Drill

Israel's National Counter-Terrorism Unit (YAMAM) conducted a surprise drill simulating an extreme terror scenario in Eilat on Tuesday. The elite forces were unexpectedly deployed via helicopter to the southern city as part of a large-scale exercise in the region.

The drill, led by Southern District Commander Superintendent Chaim Bublil in cooperation with security and rescue agencies, focused on testing the unit's operational response to a multi-front, extreme threat. Upon arrival, YAMAM operatives practiced taking control of the combat zone, rescuing hostages, managing negotiations, and neutralizing terrorists.

The exercise aimed to enhance the forces' readiness and improve their ability to provide a swift, precise, and integrated response to complex and unusual terror incidents. The training concluded with the restoration of the area to routine operations.
