Holon Mayor Sues Minors Over Property Damage, Citing 'Uncompromising Governance'

Holon Mayor Moshe Kinan announced Sunday that the municipality he leads will file lawsuits totaling tens of thousands of shekels against six minors for various acts of vandalism. Kinan stated that when minors cause damage, riot dangerously, and vandalize public property, the city demands parental responsibility, pursuing legal action against parents when settlements are not reached.

In the first incident, three minors allegedly set fire to a shade canopy and grass in Naomi Shemer Garden. After settlement attempts failed, a lawsuit for NIS 35,000 was filed against them and their parents. In a second incident, three minors were caught spray-painting graffiti on public structures in Tze'eret Garden. While settlements were reached with two families, a lawsuit for NIS 8,212 was filed against the third family.

Kinan also described a separate criminal incident where teenagers on electric scooters and bikes disrupted a police patrol car in Kiryat Sharet. The minors were apprehended within an hour, arrested, and their parents were summoned to the station. Fines were issued, and the electric bikes were confiscated.

Kinan concluded by asserting that Holon is renewing itself and establishing "uncompromising governance" for its residents.
