South Korean Player Hyun-jung Lee Joins Trail Blazers Training Camp

South Korean basketball player Hyun-jung Lee is expected to sign a contract to join the Portland Trail Blazers' training camp for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season. Lee, a 2.01-meter tall player who plays shooting guard and small forward, will turn 26 in October. While his goal is to secure an NBA contract, reports suggest he is likely to play for the Trail Blazers' G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.

Lee previously played college basketball at Davidson University from 2019 to 2022. He missed the 2022 NBA draft due to a foot injury. In 2023, he played for the Golden State Warriors' G League development team, averaging 5.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He then played in Australia and Japan.

More recently, Lee participated in the San Antonio Summer League, averaging 8.6 points in 17.2 minutes per game. Last year, he was named MVP of the Japanese league finals, leading his team to a championship with 17.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, shooting efficiently from the field and beyond the arc.

Lee was also part of the Trail Blazers' 2024 Summer League team. His potential signing follows the news of Israeli player Deni Avdija, who also plays for the Washington Wizards, preparing for his own training camp.
