PR Guru Roni Rehob Throws Book on Air, Sparks Complaint

Roni Rehob, a well-known public relations executive and regular panelist on Channel 13's "Ulpan Shishi" (Friday Studio) news program, caused a stir by throwing a book about National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, written by Ofer Rosenbaum, during a live broadcast.

Following the incident, Si Glick, director-general of the "B'tzelem" human rights organization, sent an urgent complaint letter to the Public Complaints Commissioner at the Second Authority for Television and Radio, David Regev. Glick emphasized that Rehob is not a random interviewee but a permanent panel member, expected to exhibit public responsibility and basic discussion culture.

According to Glick, throwing objects on live television dangerously legitimizes forceful and violent behavior, negatively impacting young viewers. The letter also noted that desecrating books carries heavy historical and cultural implications, recalling Heinrich Heine's warning that "where they burn books, they will ultimately also burn people."

The "B'tzelem" organization is calling on the Second Authority to initiate proceedings against the news company, reprimand those involved, and clarify that violence of any kind has no place on television.
