Political Reporter Slams Ben Gvir Over Private Event Footage
Political reporter Michael Shemesh reacted Sunday evening to video aired by Channel 13 showing National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir kissing and hugging Aviram Tal Mis at a private event. Shemesh called the footage “unbelievable” and said it showed the minister celebrating with a man he described as a convicted offender.
In his post, Shemesh said Tal Mis had been convicted only months earlier of harassment and threats, and quoted a threat Tal Mis allegedly made against journalist Guy Peleg: “You are our target, I am not threatening, I am carrying it out.” He also said Tal Mis had been ordered to pay NIS 1 million in a “serious defamation” lawsuit filed by Hili Tropper.
Shemesh argued that this was the person with whom the minister was seen publicly embracing, despite Ben Gvir’s responsibility for public safety. He ended by questioning how much lower the situation could get.
