Likud MK Accuses Retired General's Party of Damaging Right-Wing Vote

Member of Knesset Avihai Boaron of the Likud party launched a sharp attack on retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter, who heads the "Amcha Israel" party, accusing him of "burning votes and collapsing the right-wing bloc." Boaron stated in an interview with Radio Kol Barama on Monday that in previous elections, the right-wing bloc maximized its vote potential while parties on the left inadvertently helped the right by "burning" left-wing votes. He warned that Winter's party is now doing the opposite, potentially harming the right's chances.

Boaron urged Winter to join an existing party rather than run independently, which he believes will siphon votes away from the broader right-wing movement. He dismissed Winter's reported ambition to win 7 to 10 Knesset seats as "childish" and "delusional," suggesting that if Winter wishes to lead, he should do so by merging with an established party.

"We ask Winter to join as a bloc with one of the parties and not burn these votes," Boaron said. He added that if Winter does not align with an existing party, the Likud will "direct all attention so that people do not vote for him." Boaron concluded that Winter is "running to the abyss with open eyes and taking us with him."
