Israeli Tech Firm App Technologies Secures Key Patent Approvals for AI Data
Israeli technology company App Technologies announced Sunday it has received the necessary approvals to advance the initial registration of three provisional patent applications in the United States. These patents pertain to technologies developed for collecting, verifying, and analyzing video game footage, specifically aimed at supporting the development and training of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems.
The three patent applications cover complementary technologies. The first, 'Real-time Shared Game Verification,' aims to confirm that multiple recordings from different sources document the same multiplayer game in real-time. The second, 'Authentic Human Game Verification,' focuses on analyzing raw input patterns to identify and verify human gameplay, detecting the use of bots, automated command sequences, automation tools, or replayed input. The third, 'Game Segment Identification and Delineation,' is designed to accurately identify the start and end points of games or game segments within video recordings for content sorting and processing.
App Technologies views these developments and their patent protection as crucial for building long-term commercial value and differentiating its solutions. The company stated that the patent process is intended to protect its intellectual property, strengthen its competitive edge, and establish barriers to entry for rivals as it seeks to become a leading provider of high-quality, verified data for the AI industry. Some of these technologies are already being implemented in the company's data supply operations.
The company cautioned that the approval of the filings and initial registration of these applications do not guarantee that patents will be granted, in whole or in part. The scope of any granted protection will be subject to examination by the relevant authorities, legal compliance, and the full text of any subsequent applications. Eli de Beer, CEO of App Technologies, highlighted the company's two core assets for entering the AI data field: a large gamer community and technology for large-scale data collection and verification. He emphasized the AI industry's need for accurate, authentic, and relevant data, which App Technologies aims to provide, with the patent applications designed to protect these capabilities and support the data operations as a significant growth engine.
App Technologies' stock, traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, saw a 4.23% increase on Monday. Over the past week, the stock has risen 10.90%. While it experienced a significant drop of 9.25% in the last month, its performance over the last three months has been strong, with a 70.63% surge, and a 77.09% increase in the past six months.
