Channel 14 Commentator Claims Channel 12 Staff Fear Speaking Out

Hadar Miller, a commentator for Israel's Channel 14, stated in a recent interview that some employees at rival Channel 12 are afraid to voice their opinions on certain issues due to fear of losing their jobs. Miller, who appeared on the "HaTzitzanim" program by Mashav, an organization focused on Jewish identity and Israeli society, expressed frustration with the media landscape, particularly concerning coverage of the "Sde Teiman" affair.

Miller recalled her early days at Channel 14, noting her desire for the new channel to set its own agenda rather than merely reacting to headlines from other networks. She emphasized the importance of choosing specific points to highlight in broadcasts, even if they concern seemingly minor topics. "Today I think that when things are said, very, very terrible things are said," she remarked, alluding to the current media climate.

Specifically addressing the Sde Teiman incident, Miller asserted, "This story about Unit 100, you can't ignore it." She then made her claim about Channel 12: "I know people who work at Channel 12 and think exactly like this, but are afraid for their jobs. They don't dare to say something, to comment on this thing. This is something you can't ignore. Sometimes there are statements that make you put your head in your hands."

Miller also criticized the platform given to former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on leading Israeli television channels, calling his statements "truly terrible." She concluded by advocating for media outlets to focus on presenting the correct headlines and engaging in proper journalism, rather than solely reacting to what other channels are discussing.
