Breslov Rabbis Warn Against Travel to Uman Without Military Status Resolution

Leading rabbis within the Breslov Hasidic community have issued a stern warning to young adherents planning to travel to Uman, Ukraine, urging them not to approach Ben Gurion Airport without first resolving their military service status. This directive comes amid intensified enforcement by the IDF and security authorities at the airport and border crossings.

A special letter distributed by prominent rabbis explicitly states that any individual classified as a deserter, or who has an open arrest warrant, an open conscription order, or a travel ban, must not come to the airport. The rabbis highlighted that military police are increasing checks and establishing strict enforcement checkpoints for those heading to flights.

They are calling on all conscription-age travelers to officially verify their legal status with military authorities before leaving their homes. The rabbis cautioned that attempting to pass through airport security without a resolved military status will lead to immediate arrests, significant distress, and serious legal repercussions. "Anyone who does not arrange their status will be arrested immediately," they stated.
