Opposition MK Praises Departing Haredi Colleague, Cites Ideological Differences
Naor Shiri, a secular member of the Knesset from the opposition, reflected on the departure of Haredi MK Moshe Gafni after 38 years in parliament. In an interview with Channel 13 News, Shiri acknowledged deep ideological disagreements with Gafni but expressed significant respect for his parliamentary skills.
Shiri stated that he learned a great deal from Gafni about how the Knesset operates, including how to pass legislation and identify political maneuvers. He commended the diligence of Haredi lawmakers.
However, Shiri also criticized what he perceived as a lack of proper recognition for Gafni's long service as his tenure in the Knesset comes to an end.
