Basketball Game Honors Talented Player Roey Glick 30 Years After His Death

Approximately 400 spectators gathered last week in Kiryat Bialik for a moving basketball game held in memory of Roey Glick, who passed away suddenly 30 years ago at the age of 15 and a half. Glick, a resident of Kiryat Bialik, would have celebrated his 45th birthday this year. He was considered one of the most promising talents in local basketball during his youth, having developed in the Maccabi Kiryat Bialik youth division and starred for the ORT Kiryat Bialik school team, which was among the leading teams in the sport nationally at the time. His sudden death tragically cut short a promising athletic future and left a deep void for his family and friends.

The memorial game was initiated by Roey's parents, Simcha and Adi Glick. Before the game commenced, hundreds of attendees observed a minute of silence, followed by applause in his memory and in honor of his sporting legacy. The Kiryat Bialik Municipality expressed gratitude to the Glick family, the players from both participating teams, Elitzur Kiryat Ata and Hapoel Galil Elyon/The Valley, and all those involved in organizing the event for preserving the memory of their city's son and for their ongoing support of the family.
