Ex-Soccer Star Berkovich Clashes With Radio Host Ohana Over Political Stance

A heated exchange erupted on the Israeli radio station 103FM between former soccer star Eyal Berkovich and current radio host and former soccer player Eli Ohana. The debate, which took place during a program hosted by Ohana and Barak Sari, escalated when Ohana declared he "prefers Itamar Ben-Gvir a hundred times over" the party of former IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan.

Ohana justified his preference by stating Golan had expressed willingness to cooperate with Mansour Abbas's party, which he linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, over "Zionist-Jewish parties." Ohana asserted, "If he prefers a party connected to the Muslim Brotherhood over a Zionist Jewish party, however problematic it may be for us, I have nothing more to say."

Berkovich vehemently disagreed, attacking Ohana directly. "Eli, you've lost it! How can you praise this person?" Berkovich questioned, referencing past controversial statements made by National Security Minister Ben-Gvir against IDF officers and questioning Ohana's tolerance.

The argument intensified when media personality Barak Sari intervened, leading to an angry retort from Ohana: "Don't speak for me, I'm here with you!" Ohana reiterated that his red line was the preference for non-Zionist parties.

This is not the first time Berkovich has generated controversy on air. He recently launched a strong attack against Sara Netanyahu following an interview she gave, questioning why the public had to "suffer" her and her family.
