Israeli Archery Cup Crowns New Champions in Beit Lehem HaGlilit

Michaela Moshe of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Roee Dror of Keshet Kochav HaSharon were crowned champions at the Israeli Archery Cup finals held on Friday in Beit Lehem HaGlilit. Moshe, who represented Israel at the Paris Olympics, secured her victory against Yulia Lobzinidze, a competitor in the 2016 Rio Olympics for Georgia. Moshe established an early 4-0 lead in sets, and despite Lobzinidze improving her scores, Moshe clinched the women's title with a 6-2 win.

Moshe expressed her excitement, noting this was her first time competing in a cup final after years of international tournaments. She sees the win as excellent preparation for the World Archery Championship in the Philippines in two weeks, anticipating the thrill of standing on the podium. The women's final featured two Olympians, with Moshe competing in Paris and Lobzinidze in Rio.

In the men's final, Roee Dror faced Uri Rosemarin Berlad of Maccabi Keshetot HaMe'ah Ha21. After a close first set, Dror took a 3-1 lead in the second. The third set ended in a tie, bringing the score to 4-2 for Dror. Dror sealed his victory in the fourth set with a series of perfect 10s, winning the match. Dror commented on the challenging wind conditions, noting that both archers started less accurately but adapted as the competition progressed, and he was happy to win.
