Chef Eyal Shani Launches Affordable Hummus Pita Deal After Controversy

Following criticism of his flagship restaurant, North Abraxas, and a viral incident where he was seen spreading hummus with his bare hands, celebrity chef Eyal Shani has announced a new promotion. Shani is now offering hummus pitas for children, or "children at heart," and their mothers for just 18 shekels at his "Miznon" fast-casual eateries. The promotion aims to capitalize on the back-to-school season and provide a comforting meal.

The hummus featured in the pitas is described as homemade,מסבחה-style, prepared fresh in the Miznon branches and served in a soft pita with homemade pickles. Shani stated in an interview that the promotion is tied to the feeling of returning to school, evoking a sense of childhood comfort and nostalgia through familiar food.

In addition to the hummus pita, other affordable options are available for the same price until Thursday, September 10th. These include pitas with labneh and za'atar, omelets with cream and pickles, and sweet options like a "pita toast" with chocolate spread and glazed bananas.

The Miznon branches participating in the promotion are located on Ibn Gabirol Street and in the Sarona complex in Tel Aviv.
