Global Wine & Spirit Acquires Israel's Premier Bartending School
Global Wine & Spirit, Israel's largest alcohol import company, has fully acquired "Zman Emtiti" (Real Time), the country's oldest and largest bartending school, after 37 years of operation. The acquisition aims to create a direct link between global alcohol brands and the professionals who serve them, seeking to redefine drinking experiences in Israel and foster a community around bars and restaurants.
Founded in 1989, "Zman Emtiti" has trained over 160,000 graduates who now work in the hospitality industry both in Israel and abroad. The school operates four centers in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Haifa, and Beersheba, serving as a crucial training ground, particularly for young adults and IDF veterans.
The deal includes full ownership of the company's assets, brand, training centers, and staff. It is expected to expand wine, coffee, and cocktail courses to the general public and corporations. Yoav Socri, the school's CEO, described the acquisition as a form of "Zionism, stage four," emphasizing its role in helping IDF veterans transition into civilian life.
Aliza Dayan Alteres, marketing VP for Global Wine & Spirit, stated that the integration will allow the company to "make an innovative and creative mark, and create a quality, professional, and responsible drinking culture in Israel." Global Wine & Spirit, a subsidiary of the international Palic Corporation, is a major player in Israel's beverage market, distributing premium brands like Jack Daniel's, Finlandia, Glenfiddich, and Moët & Chandon, as well as representing wineries such as Dalton and Titura.
