National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir responded to police violence during the ultra-Orthodox extremist protest on Route 4, where officers used stun grenades. His remarks came amid criticism from Shas leader Aryeh Deri.
Ben Gvir said that in recent times there have been more incidents in which stun grenades were used against civilian populations not in line with procedure. He said he will hold an urgent discussion on the issue to make sure their use is limited to exceptional cases and follows police regulations.
“If the use is not restricted to these cases, there will be no stun grenades in the police,” Ben Gvir said.
