Gloukh, who started the game, was substituted in the 54th minute after failing to make a significant impact. The Dutch ESPN commentator, Vincent Schildkamp, specifically targeted Gloukh's performance, noting a defensive lapse in the 27th minute that allowed Sergiño Dest to advance, leading to a scoring chance for PSV. Schildkamp stated on air, "Gloukh is basically just giving up and signaling to his teammates 'Yes, I won't get there anymore, you need to manage.' Gloukh simply doesn't have the lungs to keep up with Dest all evening."
